(More customer reviews)I had twin boys at the end of May 2010. We live in a condo, so I foolishly thought I had enough to keep the babies occupied that I would need only one swing for them. How wrong I was! We received the Fisher Price My Little Lamb swing from our registry. By one month we were out of our mind wishing for another swing. So we bought a glider thinking it would be a good compromise. Unfortunately, the glider didn't hold the boys' interest or soothe them for long. We finally broke down at 2 months old and purchased this swing because I was attracted to the idea that it was quiet - unlike the constant (annoying) ticking sound of the My Little Lamb.

This swing is AWESOME! I can not say enough good things about it... I love the idea that the battery will last so long - it seems that the system it uses helps to preserve battery life. And this swing is absolutely silent! You don't hear anything when it's running - and neither will your baby! I really like the nature sounds too - they have two that sound like running water and another that sounds like white noise. All perfect for my one son that is colicky. I'm sure the music is just fine as well - we just don't use it too often since we play a CD in the room to help them relax. It wasn't that hard to put together and I did it on my own while the boys were taking a nap! The colors are very neutral tan and simple, so it goes great with my living room. It does have a wide base overall, but you kind of go into having a baby knowing you're about to lose all of your personal space. The other great thing about this swing is that it is a GENTLE swing, unlike the My Little Lamb. We spent the first 2 months of their life weighing down the My Little Lamb with blankets and towels to slow the swing arc down - and my boys were born at 6 lbs! This swing is so smooth and gentle, yet allows you to increase the arc speed at an acceptable amount. I'm no longer terrified that my boys are getting their brains jiggled. What's the best thing I can tell you? The timer! No other swing I found has one... you can actually set this thing to stop swinging after 30, 45, 60, or (the default) 90 minutes. That's great for a fussy baby and exhausted parent - you may fall asleep before the baby does. No worries... the music/nature sound has a timer of about 15-20 minutes and the swing it's own adjustable timer. That's worth every dime in my opinion.

There are only two things that may seem strange to you... unlike the My Little Lamb, this swing's seat has a very open feel to it. So you have to be ok with the idea that the baby really is safe in it, but will absolutely have to use the harness straps. The other thing is that the hanging mobile is just silly. They would have been better off just attaching a mirror to the bottom of it like the My Little Lamb - I'm not sure what baby is interested in this simple mobile that doesn't even turn. It just hangs there.
